Alex Ulomi: From Porter to Founder

Alex began his career as a porter on Kilimanjaro, carrying loads and learning the mountain's secrets from the ground up. Over a decade later, he has summitted hundreds of times and founded Baba Kilimanjaro to bring a more personal, ethical touch to Tanzanian travel.

His journey is a testament to the resilience and spirit of the local crews we employ. Alex's first-hand experience at every level of mountain operations ensures that your climb is not only successful but also respects the hard-working porters who make it possible.
