Day by day

Day 1

Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp

After breakfast in Moshi, drive to Londorossi Gate for registration before continuing to the Lemosho trailhead. Begin trekking through lush rainforest filled with giant trees, birds, and monkeys to reach Mti Mkubwa Camp.

Day 2

Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp

The trail leaves the rainforest and enters the heath and moorland zone with spectacular views of Kibo Peak. Trek across rolling hills and valleys toward Shira Plateau.

Day 3

Shira 1 Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower

Continue across the beautiful Shira Plateau before ascending to Lava Tower for acclimatization. Descend afterward to Barranco Camp beneath the towering Barranco Wall.

Day 4

Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp

Climb the famous Barranco Wall and continue through Karanga Valley before ascending to Barafu Camp. Rest and prepare for the midnight summit attempt.

Day 5

Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp

Begin the summit attempt around midnight and trek slowly toward Stella Point before reaching Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After celebrating at the summit, descend to Mweka Camp for overnight rest.

Day 6

Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate

Descend through the rainforest to Mweka Gate where you receive your summit certificates before transfer back to Moshi for celebration and relaxation.
