The 6 Days Machame Route is one of the most popular Kilimanjaro climbing itineraries, offering dramatic landscapes, exciting trekking, and the opportunity to reach Uhuru Peak via the scenic southern approach.

The 6 Days Machame Route is one of the most exciting ways to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, combining challenging trekking with spectacular scenery and unforgettable summit views. Starting from Machame Gate on the southern side of the mountain, the trail passes through dense rainforest before climbing into open heathland, the Shira Plateau, alpine desert, and finally the glacier-covered summit zone. Known worldwide as the Whiskey Route, Machame is favored by adventurous trekkers who want a more scenic alternative to the Marangu Route. Although the six-day itinerary provides less acclimatization time than the seven-day version, it remains a popular choice for physically fit climbers. Highlights include the impressive Lava Tower, the famous Barranco Wall, panoramic views of Kibo Peak, and the exhilarating midnight ascent to Uhuru Peak at 5,895 meters. Throughout the expedition, experienced mountain guides carefully monitor your health while skilled cooks prepare nutritious meals and dedicated porters transport equipment, allowing you to focus on reaching the Roof of Africa safely and successfully.
