Summary

The 9-day Northern Circuit is the longest and most scenic Kilimanjaro route, offering maximum acclimatization, fewer crowds, and the highest summit success rate.

The 9 Days Northern Circuit Route is the longest and most scenic route on Mount Kilimanjaro, offering unmatched acclimatization and the highest summit success rate of all trekking routes. Starting from the western side of the mountain at Londorossi Gate, the route follows the Lemosho trail initially before branching off toward the remote northern slopes of Kilimanjaro. This unique path circles almost the entire mountain, giving climbers panoramic views from all sides, including Kenya’s Amboseli plains and the vast Tanzanian wilderness. Unlike other routes that ascend and descend along the same or similar paths, the Northern Circuit provides a full 360-degree experience of Kilimanjaro’s ecological zones. Climbers pass through lush rainforest, heath and moorland, alpine desert, and finally the Arctic summit zone. The extended duration allows for gradual acclimatization, significantly reducing altitude sickness risk and increasing the probability of reaching Uhuru Peak. This route is ideal for climbers who want a quieter, more remote experience with fewer crowds and more time to enjoy the mountain’s natural beauty. The professional mountain crew ensures safety, comfort, and guidance throughout the journey, making it suitable for both first-time trekkers and experienced hikers seeking a premium Kilimanjaro experience.
